The Analysis of Eye Position by Hirschberg’s Test and Alternating Prism Cover Test

Abstract
|
|
|
Purpose: In order to investigate the deviation angle by Hirschberg’s test and alternating prism cover test(A.P.C.T.).
Methods: We had measured the angle kappa, deviation angle, accommodation power, N.P.C. and AC/A ratio of university students who are in the range of 21 to 25 year old and who don’t have eye disease.
Results: The deviation angle measured by A.P.C.T. at short distance and the angle kappa of the right(r=0.730, p=0.000) and left eye(r=0.755, p=0.000) have meaningful correlationship. The relation between positive angle kappa and the deviation angle by A.P.C.T. was linear as ’y = 3.954 + 0.063χ’. the relation between accommodation power and N.P.C. was negatively linear as ’y = 10.603 - 0.667χ’, in which the shorter the N.P.C. is, the larger accommodation power is(negative relationship; r=-0.646, p=0.001).
Conclusions: It is possible to use the results as basic data for decision of eye position.
